I have most everything planned out I just don’t know how to decorate the walls and cover the ugly garage door! Please help!
Go to wal mart or some fabric stores, look at their cheap, sale fabric.
This time of year you should be able to find tropical, beach type theme fabric. Mix and match. OR blues, like the sky or ocean.Figure out how high you want it, say at least 6 ft, that is 2 yards, and how many feet around you want to go. Fabric comes 45" or 60".you should be able to do the math.
Get some cheap string and wind it around the room, using nails or stuff already up to hold it, then drape your cheap fabric over it.
You can save the fabric and make some summer, picnic table cloths. You can even use clothespins to hold them.
OR go find a bunch of cheap, on sale, dollar store beach towels and use those, and you will have some for next summer.
Maybe that will give you some ideas…..good luck, have fun!

Do it up as a ‘beach cabana’ and you can cover the walls with ‘cloths’ and hang beach pictures on it … which would be a great ‘theme’ for both your wedding and your reception.

You could try tacking up colourful sarongs around the walls, or hanging palm leaves

find posters of tropical scenic pictures, take them to kinkos, office max, or other stores like that and have them blow it up into huge sections, then lay them side by side and tape them on the back, then voila! You have huge beautiful murals that will cover large spaces!
good luck, hope I helped!

You can make a Hawain theme that would also look nice. Take a big cloth and paint it with a background of the sea and put it on the wall, it will look nice and no one will notice the ugly wall.

Congrats!
Im getting married in Dec and having a home reception and we are getting Bali flags as decorations. They are quite tall and bright, they would take the focus away from the outside part and then on the inside have an area where you and you groom have a heap of photos or get a slide projector and have the photos continually changing. On other walls have stars that match your colour theme and helium ballons maybe. Get creative and just remember its ment to be a fun day so dont stress yourself out and get others to help, most people will be honnored that youve asked.
Goodluck!

Congrats, u can cover the walls with wall mattings in flame red hues adorned with heart shaped ballons (in anticlockwise ties).Simultaneously,u can put up a bright rose bouqet adorned lively figure of ur diety (to invoke his blessings) just in the front above ur 2 seats (urs n the bride’s). Let this reflection fall in an oval heavy polished brass tub (filled with water n floating candles n aromatic incense). As for the ugly garage door, simply put up a white paper n ask the guests to write their wishes n feelings, u can show this later on to ur children.

Like other have suggested I would do a lot of draping and lighting. Is it a day or evening event. You can always do layers ivory mixed with your wedding colors draped around the garage covering it and covering the ceiling like they do at some halls. If it is an evening occasion you can add candles (be safe) to set a romantic and intimate setting for your guest. What ever you do just remember you have a natural nice view of the ocean and need to use it to your benefit.
There are some pictures on this site some are too elaborate you just want to cover your walls so you can get some ideas

First of all, themes are for parties. Not weddings. Also, the only place a beach theme belongs is at the actual beach.
