My friend is getting married and doing a medieval / fairytale theme. Any ideas out there? She’s got a belle-sleeve dress, victorian pew cone decorations and an arch for the front. Give us some GOOD ideas!
Colors are lavender and sage

Celtic music is VERY medieval. Especially the lute and harp music.

And how about lavendar sachets for wedding keepsakes. Make an accompanying card with the date and couples names in celtic lettering. Use lavendar coloured tulle squares, and a pale green or leaf green ribbon to tie them. You should be able to find dried lavendar flowers at a health shop (they are used for herbal tea).

For my nephew’s wedding I made bookmarks with a drawing on one side that represented lavendar and rosemary branches. On the other side the date of the wedding, and names of the bride and groom. One side was pale green, the other lavendar coloured. Then I cut them all the same size, and had them laminated in plastic sheets. Afterwards, I cut a small circle from the top and threaded lavendar coloured cording in them tyeing a small tassel on each end. They turned out quite nice

You could also make ceremony leaflets with all the details of the ceremonial prayers, readings, etc. for the church, putting 3 or 4 per pew. Use a cream or ivory coloured paper for the inner pages. Have them printed in celtic lettering, and glue a lavendar flower with a small bow on the front. (Use parchment or elephant skin heavy paper…it gives them an "old" look). (If you are going to do them yourself, you can find celtic lettering for your computer in www.fontfreak.com download the one you like best, there are several ( I personally like Kelly Ann Gothic, KingdomCome is neat, and King Arthur) There are even several fonts with capitals like the Initials on medieval manuscrot book illustrations (mosaic initials, Pee’s Celtic outline, etc)
Have the bridal and bridesmaids bouquets have ribbons trailing at least of 3 different lengths, with a small knot tied at the bottom of each. This is called a "love knot" and was used long ago on all bridal bouquets.

I was talking to my BF about our wedding theme for the far future (we decided to hold off on it because we’re both not financially ready) and he said that he didn’t care what theme I chose for the reception as long as the DJ played some of his type of music too. He likes country music while I will only listen to some of the modern (more like pop) stuff. Now to my question …

I have been a Mickey Mouse fan for as long as I can remember and I see that there are many wedding favors listed on eBay so I know it’s not something strange. What do you think of this idea? Can I pull it off? :) )
playwitd – He’s getting some of his music (which I don’t like). Why can’t I get what I like?

Disney themes are actually very popular. You should be able to pull it off easily. Have your colors be red/black, with just a touch of yellow.
As long as you don’t overdo it, it will be fine.

i want to have a romantic theme wedding with my colours gold and red any ideas

i would challenge you to find creative ways
to use those colors without being cliche.
i’d recommend finding cool flowers
and spraying them metallic gold. put those
in your bouquets. there are tons of red
flowers that aren’t roses, too.

i’d say use gold candles, too, in the centerpieces.
those are some modern/classy ways of adding
a romantic glow without being cheesy!

If you were getting married in september what colors would you choose? I really don’t want a fall theme is argument at the moment. (Orange is one of my least fav colors) If anyone can suggest ideas as to what they would do that may guide me in a different direction than a pumpkin leafy theme that would be soo very helpful. Thanks so much in advance!!

I want to get married in September its so beautiful. Champagne or Clover Green are two perfect colors! Pick one of the other or pair them together. For flowers pick white roses or white lillies and make the sash around them one of the two above colors. For centerpieces, (champagne color theme) try peaches in a wooden basket or (clover green color theme) pears or green apples in a wooden basket. You can also get a bowl and fill half with water and floating flower candles on top. It will accent your wedding for sure. The idea is simple, romantic, and will make your guests feel in between summer and fall. Congratulations!

I am getting married soon and we are planning on doing a paris/french theme. Any ideas on what food we can serve for the reception? Not so worried about easy to make as I am about the cost, we will be serving a lot of people so we need something that is gonna be cost effective. Thanks.
