and yes my fiance knows, it was partly his idea. snow white theme to be exact. i figure lots of red roses and earthy tones. any other ideas to make my wedding very special and unique.

Center Pieces of Red Apples. Table favors of miniature mirrors with your wedding info inscribed.

If you really want to go over the top, you could have someone in your wedding party walk the isle right before you kiss and give you a "poison apple" causing you to faint and your prince charming would have to save you with true loves first kiss. lol!

Congrats on your wedding day!

My wedding is this April. It’s being held at an 1850′s antebellum/type home. The ceremony will be around 6pm-ish outside in the back yard garden and then the reception will be in the house as well as the back yard. I want to have some type of them to tie everything together but something more specific than just "garden/spring" theme. My dress is a strapless ballgown of white tulle. I’m leaning towards bridemaids (only 3) dresses in a shade of pink. Or possibly an aqua type color. I want to do something that I can incorporate into the decorations, cake, invitations, etc…. Any ideas would be so appreciated! Thanks!

Themes can be a colour or variations of a colour or two, a flower, a word or like you said a season (spring).. or historical time or common interest of the bride & groom (like skiing).

I know, it’s every girl’s dream to have the best wedding ever… something different and memorable… I’ve noticed that this is achieved by personalizing the ceremony, the location or the traditions you use at the reception.

Just keep it simple and don’t worry so much about it being all ‘matchy’… You’ll end up worrying about little things that will take up too much of your time & energy.

Can you utilize something interesting from the 1850′s home? Like an oil lamp or tree or wall colour or architectural detail that can be woven into your wedding? Something in the garden? Use your surroundings don’t fight it.

Maybe pick your favourite spring flower… like a pink tulip.. your bridesmaids can have different shades of pink (that individually they love & suits them AND can wear the dress again…three different dresses along the same style influence)
(Be careful with aqua… it’s nice as an accent with the right complimentary colour.)
Your cake can have tulips on it.
Your invitations can be neutral with a pink tulip on it.

I got married in April too. We did an earthy/ spring/ garden/ fresh/ ‘joyful’ combination…. we kept it simple and used an muted sage or light olive green and light taupe as an undercurrent to our chosen flowers…
Our guests remarked how comfortable, relaxed and elegant the banquet hall was..
My main objective was to have it "nice", unassuming and comfortable…. I felt we achieved it.

I just thought I’m not Oprah or Martha so why stress out trying?

Good luck and relax!

I am having a hard time deciding what to do. Our favorite colors are baby blue and silver. I also like pink, but pink and blue would be kind of tacky and remind me of a baby shower. We are looking at a date of May 17, 2008. So it will be a spring wedding. I am not really interested in a luau theme. It is going to be a formal wedding and we are having the reception at a very nice resort. I want something that is totally unique and something that everyone will remember as being one of the coolest! Yeah I guess I am a little competitive and I want to out do every wedding I have ever been to, this is my special day after all. But No I definately am not a stuck up rich girl or anything even close. I also thought of a Hollywood/red carpet theme because there is a beautiful dress I found that has red trim, but I am afraid that red and black will be kinda scary colors for a wedding, what do you think? I will take any ideas, themes, favors, whatever you may have that is unique! Thanks!
Any interesting ideas for kids, since I have 2 of my own I want all of them to have a great time! Ideas to get the guests involved, games or different things besides the usually dancing, sitting, bs’ing
Not necessarily games, but for the guests to be involved and have a lot of fun besides the usual dancing.

you could have a spring theme as in New Beginnings, using your fave colors with pinks and yellows….if you wanted……in addition, if you just don’t want blue and pink together, blue and green are very pretty, especially in a spring wedding.

I do not like fall color themes like reds, yellows or browns, and I dont want to do orange or black. My favorite color is lime green, any suggestions?
