I am having a green/brown/white wedding theme (Calla Lilies for flowers), but I want it to look more "naturey" but with those colours. Definitely need brown ideas (lacking on those), would pine cones in an August wedding look tacky? Help please!
My friend gave out little plants in hydroponic jelly as wedding favours. It also provides great decoration for the dining table and your guests get to take the little plants home to nuture and cherish!
How do I bring in nature into my wedding theme?

What about using brown linens or brown candles instead of pine cones?

i think pine cones would look fine in august. http://www.theinvitationsource.com/images/weddin81.gif
you could even have pine cones on the cake like this http://www.earlenescakes.com/CakeClub/ChrisPineCones.jpg
or you could use brown stones and do something like this for centerpeices http://www.mydreamwedding.ca/wp-content/uploads/image/Joseph/reception_table3.jpg
or something like this at table setting -http://www.mydreamwedding.ca/wp-content/uploads/image/Josef/6055.jpg

white fence with vines and brown candles instead of pine-cones are wonderful. you can bring more nature indoors by using well placed trees & add baby’s breath to everything.
brown is the color of dirt and tree trunks in nature, so it really should be an accent color instead of a main color. green/white would be the main color.
one other thing I thought of was green scented candles with brown ribbon at the bottom for a layered, more "naturey" look.
good luck!

I wouldn’t do pine cones in August… they don’t seem to fit with the season. I’m not sure what your budget is… but have you thought about crystal trees? I considered them for centerpieces… but that can be pretty pricey. Another option would be to put one big crystal tree on the cake table or the seating assignment table where you put the place cards.
Here’s some examples of crystal trees:

I have also heard of people putting small tags on the table for guests to write wishes or advice on and then they hang them on the tree branches. You can use the fake manzanita branches that come in many different colors (brown, gold, silver, etc.) or you can use real branches from trees.

Love brown and green with white accents! Look to nature for your inspiration. Some ideas: chocolate buffet, tea lights in rustic/brown lanterns for ambiance, green and brown glass beads scattered on the reception tables, bamboo or birch decorations, string white lights, brown linen i.e on chairs, table runner, ribbons. Check out the inspiration boards at MagnetStreet Weddings for ideas!
